Guns aren't an odd sight around here. The police carry assault rifles. On the way to the orphanage this AM, I pass two of them on the road, both carrying AK-47's. We chatted politely, and they were very friendly. When I asked if I could take their picture, they very politely told me that it was not allowed, and then apologised that they could not let me. Lesson; when the man with the gun says you can't take his picture, no matter how nicely, you just can't.
